El Rio es el tercer adelanto del próximo disco doble de Viaje a Ixtlán. Ambos discos son dos caras de la misma moneda, dos representaciones de la misma banda durante un punto de inflexión y reorganización.

El Rio es un perfecto ejemplo del presente musical de Viaje a Ixtlán: una canción fuerte y concisa. La melodía cruda se apoya sobre el trabajo pesado que generan la guitarra y Rhodes, mientras el bajo y la batería juegan generando una base que tiene reminiscencias de música latinoamericana pervertida por la influencia del post rock. Algunos sintetizadores decoran los espacios libres mientras la participación de Sergio Ch. como invitado generando noise aquí y allá a lo largo del tema, termina por cohesionar todo en una canción directa.

Each album it’s the side from a same coin, two faces of the same band during a process of reorganization.

El Rio it’s a perfect example of the musical present of Viaje a Ixtlán:
A direct, solid and consice song. The main melody travels through dark guitar and rhodes passages, while the bass and drums play a pattern reminiscent of latinamerican music perverted by the post rock influence and standars. Some synthezisers fill the remaining spaces while the special appearence of Sergio Ch. generating noise all through the song seals the deal.
